A lot of what I like about a book is the world building. “Setting as story” is a valid device, look at Star Wars — ppl quote Joseph Campbell and say “it’s just another hero’s journey” but the setting changes everythingOn twitter.com

Like I will read every Tolkien book just to add to the world in my head & increase my understanding of the lore even when some of them are esoteric/not that enjoyable hahaPermalink On twitter.com
